Inspection of Fall Protection Equipment (PSAgA) According to DGUV

We Are Your Partner for the Recurring Inspection of Fall Protection Systems

Personal protective equipment against falls (PPE) must be used correctly and visually inspected by the user for proper condition and flawless functioning before each use. However, the employer also has a duty to ensure that PPE is inspected at least once a year by a qualified expert.

How often must PPE be inspected?

The recurring inspection is mandated by the German professional association rules BGR 198 (Use of Personal Protective Equipment Against Falls) and BGR 199 (Use of Personal Protective Equipment for Rescue from Heights and Depths). Any employer using personal protective equipment against falls is required to have it inspected for proper condition at least every 12 months.

Who Is Authorized to Inspect Fall Protection PPE?

According to DGUV 312-906, the inspection of personal protective equipment against falls (PPE) may only be carried out by a trained expert. Qualified persons are those who, due to their professional education, further training, or experience, are capable of inspecting PPE against falls.

Place the inspection in professional hands to ensure the safety of your employees.
